Flying Experience
I started flying helicopters at Grand Central in 2001 and got my fixed wing PPL in 2005. I am currently a businesswoman involved in Property Investment and Finance amongst other things. I fly in my spare time.

I have done extensive aerobatic training at Cape Town Flight Training Centre and I currently compete at Sportsman’s level in Aerobatic Contests. I have also doneintensive Yak 52, aerobatic and safety training.
I took part in the RAF formation training course in Durban in 2007 (oriented by SL Chris Heames, principal of the North Weald Yak formation training system), and was part of the 13-ship yak formation as #4.

2007 Virginia Airshow as #7 in an 11 ship
I then completed a further formation training course in Durban in 2008 (oriented by Start Louw and some of our top military and ex military South African instructors), and was the lead aircraft for a 10-ship yak formation at the Virginia Airshow in July 2008.
History in the Making
Recently I became the first woman in South Africa to lead a formation display. This took place at the Welkom Airshow on 26 April 2008.
Personal Information
I am married to Mike, and have a teenage son (Rory), as well as 4 year old twins (Joshua and Danyica), and 2 stepchildren (Jess and James)!
I love flying and can only blame my late father, Marius van Belkum, who obviously gave me my flying gene! Thanks Dad!
